About Us

Currer Bell is the vision of LA-based fashion designer Geren Lockhart (of Geren Ford) and London-based textile designer Nancy Parker. The combination of their unique skills has created a contemporary label pairing timeless prints with dresses that transcend season.

Inspired by the insouciant glamour of life in London, Los Angeles and Sydney, this is an intelligent ready-to-wear collection blending high with low, old with new, casual with sophisticated and value with meticulous quality.

The brand is a fusion of the co-creators' lifestyles, finding inspiration in travel, art and literature. Currer Bell is the pen name of Charlotte Bronte, who chose to rebel against society in an era that disapproved of female writers, publishing Jane Eyre under this nom de plume: it's our tribute to life's female protagonist.

Nancy Parker & Geren Lockhart

Geren Lockhart

Geren Lockhart - Raised by artist parents, Geren Lockhart grew up between New York’s infamous Soho district and Northern California’s Bay Area amidst the spirited, bohemian art scene of the 1970’s and 80’s.

The first two decades of Lockhart’s professional career were spent as an advertising production executive and stylist working for world-class firms Chiat/ Day and Partizan.

While working as an ad executive in Manhattan, she rounded out her already busy schedule with a Fashion Design program at Parsons.

Drawing on inspiration from her extensive travel and the diverse worlds of art, film, music and architecture, Lockhart established Geren Ford in 2004. The runaway success of the brand amongst both contemporary customers and fashion editors alike has been attributed to her solution-oriented approach to design and worldly sense of chic.

Lockhart has been honoured with multiple awards from GenArt and conceptualised and executed multiple seasons’ presentations at New York Fashion week.

Considered an expert in fashion, luxury and business, Lockhart has been tapped to speak on numerous panels for companies and institutes for higher education such as Harvard Business School.

When not working, Lockhart can be found in Nichols canyon with her dog Quinn and a lot of clothes and shoes.

Nancy Parker

Nancy Parker - Growing up in Birmingham, England with parents who are photographers, Nancy Parker has always had a passion for colour and pattern.

After graduating from Nottingham Trent with a BA in Printed Textiles in 1999, Parker moved to Como Italy to design for an Italian print house.

In 2002, she moved to London and joined Brewster Textile Design Studio where she spent three years as Global Sales Director travelling extensively, giving trend presentations and selling unique print concepts.

In early 2006, Parker’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish Nancy Parker Studio Ltd and since then she has built her business into a market leader. Today, her company creates prints for over 2500 customers worldwide including Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, St John, Etro, Escada, Moschino, J Crew, Topshop and ASOS.
